To put on the "lingerie event of the century" and the most-watched fashion show in the world,it takes a village. And that village lives backstage where 38 gorgeous girls walk in as supermodels and are transformed into Victoria's Secret Angels.
Puerto Rico's first-ever Victoria's Secret opened at San Juan's Plaza Las Americas last week, with fans lining up as early as 3 am to be the first to shop and experience the brand new store. The Grand Opening celebration included a very glam arrival of Victoria's Secret Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Erin Heatherton in a fabulous pink helicopter, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and TV and media appearances. The finale was a customer event with Adriana Lima, where fans got to pose for pics with their favorite Angel.
Kanye, Jay-Z, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj and the world's hottest models aside, not all the star power of the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was on the runway. From backstage to front row to Pink Carpet, it was Celeb Central, with Beyonce, Russell Simmons, Orlando Bloom, Michael Bay, Donna Karan, Debbie Harry and others in attendance.
Orlando Pita and Tom Pecheux led a legion of hair stylists and makeup artists as they prepped dozens of the world's most gorgeous women for the runway.
